Keep pets, children and objects away from the curb for at least 24 hours.It will be “hard” to the touch at this point, but still needs several days to cure.Bordermate Is not responsible for damage to the curbing during curing process.
Sod laying, sprinkler work and landscape work can be started 48 hours after installation:however caution must be taken as shovels, picks and wheelbarrows can damage the curb for several more days while fully curing.It is important to remember Concrete fully curesin 28 days, care is necessary to prevent damage.
If you have a landscape contractor working for you, caution him about protecting the curb.If wheelbarrows are to be used for hauling rock or mulch over the curb, first put a mound of dirt over it approximately 6 inches deep or build a ramp over the curb to keep the weight from cracking or damaging the curb.Never allow a tractor or truck to run on the curb!
If it begins to rain within 6 hours after we leave the job, try to cover the curb with plastic.Make sure sprinkler systems do not come on for at least 24 hours.Irrigation, backwash from pools or sprinklers can damage the curb within the first 24 hours.
Curbing with color may look “splotchy” as it cures.This should go away as it cures, and not be confused with efflorescence.
If curbing is damaged, we will come back and make necessary repairs, however, there will be a $300.00 minimum charge.
The curbing is designed to crack at expansion joints, as this is a natural occurrence do to ground movement.
When curbing is installed, there will be a small amount of concrete on the ground in front of the curb.This concrete is very hard to clean while the concrete is still wet.After a 24 hour curing period, it can be picked up in small pieces and thrown away.This will allow your grass to grow back against the curb.You may also like to place dirt and seed in this area to speed lawn recovery in this area.
Your Bordermate curbing has a TWO year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.It will be replaced at no charge if the defect is caused by materials used or the way your curbing was installed by a Bordermate worker.
